Brandy Buchmeier is a self employed entrepreneur owning and operating her own residential and commercial cleaning business. Prior to starting her own business she was in education working in the Manteno School District for four years as an administrative assistant. During those years she witnessed the mental health crisis in full force. Outside of that she brings over 15 years of experience in the medical/dental field and has always had a passion for helping others. After leaving education that she loved so dearly she was missing her contribution to the greater good. When she saw the opportunity to join forces with Project Headspace and Timing, she couldn’t look away. 

 

In addition to her mental heath connection working with local youth, she also has a personal connection to the detrimental effects of suicide as she lost her Stepfather in 2010. Since then, she has made it her mission to be a positive influence on those around her in every way possible, lending an ear or a shoulder whenever and wherever she feels she is needed. Brandy has volunteered her time to coach and mentor local youth over the years and continues to do so today. 

 

Her veteran connection comes from watching her family members and friends serve in the military. Most recently seeing her long time friend and Army Veteran lose his battle to brain cancer. In 2012 her grandfather battled Alzheimer’s and struggled to get the care he so desperately needed. Her passion for helping others is strong and her background supplements that in so many ways. She looks forward to her time with Project Headspace and Timing while they work towards helping the Veteran community on so many levels. 

 

Brandy has been married for almost 17 years to her husband Derek. Together they have two children; Makayla (16) and Adeline (8). Makayla is an avid Volleyball player who competed at the national level last summer all while maintaining a 4.8 GPA. She plans to continue playing in college. Adeline enjoys gymnastics and volleyball. Collectively as a family their second home is the beach where they soak in the tranquility as often as they can. They love the outdoors, sporting events, and travel.
